THE 2009 OISTINS FISH FESTIVAL is expected to be the most exciting Easter weekend
extravaganza since the inaugural event in the South Coast fishing town 32 years ago.
Planning is now in the final stages for marine activities, including swimming contests and
boat racing, to precede the festival's April 11 opening.
Visual artists Arlette St Hill and Kathleen Yearwood will showcase 100 pieces of original artwork at the Gallery of Barbadian Art and there will
be new attractions at the Police Tattoo
on the Foundation School grounds on April 9.
Foundation, celebrating its 200th anniversary, will play a leading role in this year's festival. Former student Judith Gill will deliver the Sir Harold
St John Oistins Fish Festival Lecture at the Christ Church Parish Centre on April 8 at
7:30 p.m. She will speak on the topic Foundation: "The Oistins Connection - More Than A Matter Of Proximity"
Thousands are expected in the Christ Church fishing village at 4:30 p.m. for Minister of
