There is something about Asantia Brathwaite that captivates pageant judges.
Sunday night Brathwaite added another title to her growing list, when she successfully hooked the one for the Oistins Beauty Pageant.
On her way to the overall title, the belle with the midas touch netted three other prizes for Best Gown, Best Talent and Best Presentation.
Miss Pro-Tabe Repairs, 27, outshone the others in the talent segment with a drama/dance combination, which paid tribute to those who have contributed to the fishing industry at the various levels.
Another performance of note in this segment came from Daniella Clarke, who was sponsored by Ashyah. Whether or not it was the chosen genre, Clarke brought a short-lived spiritual calm to the rowdy audience with a choreography to Yolanda Adams' That Name. She was awarded Miss Congeniality.
Though the presentation for the sponsors should not have taken the length of time it did, Brathwaite's advertisement as the first delegate would always have been memorable.
Brathwaite was frustrated with the bad reception from different model phones and was adamant that she was not going to buy another.
A suggestion from the "devil" to steal one seemed to be an exciting option. A single line
from a winged angel .as part of the presentation for the cellphone repair company was tops
Don't get stab, go to Pro-Tabe. Brathwaite was not a popular choice for Best
Gown. All the delegates designed their own pieces and the judges gave her the
nod for a simply cut gold dress accentuated with flowers.
Second place went to Kerry-Ann Odle, Miss Hair Creations. She took the prize for Best Swimwear as well.
The "finger-licking good" Dionne Moore dazzled the judges and emerged as Miss Photogenic, in addition to her third place.
Delegate No. 5, Lasonta Davis, did not have a good night. The representative for Call Network Inc., however, took two prizes for Most Improved and Most Committed.
Members of the sparse audience were entered between segments by Dwayne Husbands, the Demolition Squad dancers, Mikey, Statement, Pong and Ebony Modets. Adrian Boo Husbands was the M.C.
